We’ve been there
Every challenge you’re facing with your running is one that we have experienced ourselves as athletes, or one we have faced through coaching our athletes from all around the world.
We also used to put our shoes on and just run out the door… as fast as we can. There was no variety with our running, and we DEFINITELY didn’t do strength training! A funny fact is, DJ even used to run in a pair of Dunlop Volleys!
These little errors showed for both DJ and Sean… through feelings of burnout, injuries, and a constan tly sore and weak body. It inspired us to reach out to a coach for help with our running, we fell in love with it, became coaches ourselves, and the rest is history.
You might not believe us, but you don’t need to run every day to achieve your running goals… and you also don’t need a supreme level of fitness to get started. Whether you’re just getting started with your running or you’re already a half marathoner, we’re here to help you with every step you take.
On October 15th, 2017, coach Sean ran his first marathon… in 3:28:11. Look, maybe he had some natural speed from his football background, but we didn’t know the full potential of what he could achieve until he also fell in love with running.
Fast forward to today, Sean has accomplished some significant running feats as a 26-year-old. Like you, he loves to push his body and mind and see what he is capable of.
Sean’s most notable achievement is running 4,000km from Cairns to Melbourne in just 60 days, to raise over $100,000 for Make-A-Wish in 2022. But of course, he didn’t get there overnight.
Since 2017, he has also run:
– 50 marathons in 50 days (2019)
– Won the Bali Hope Ultra an 84km Ultra marathon across Bali (2019)
– A sub-3-hour marathon (2:53:20) in 2020
– 3 x 24 hour runs (covering 170, 181 & 201kms respectively).
– Won the BVRT 200 Mile Ultra Marathon
+ Many other ultra-marathons and marathons.
And we have coached athletes from around the globe towards races alike… including NZ Athlete Tom Cook who ran his first marathon and ultra-marathon with us (safely progressing from 10km to 84km… in just 10 months). 👇
Having raced in numerous countries including Australia, Bali, France, Italy, New Zealand, and Switzerland, DJ knows a thing or 2 about running.
After experiencing how much running changed his own life for the better, DJ became a running coach to help others achieve things they may have (like himself) previously thought impossible.
As a dedicated philanthropist, DJ has personally donated and fundraised thousands of dollars for causes and charities close to his heart. His favourite race is The Bali Hope Ultra, an 84km Ultra marathon across Bali to put disadvantaged children through school. DJ is the only runner to have participated in the Bali Hope Ultra event each year!
